Bereavement Doula Support
We strive to offer our community access to trained, professional bereavement Doulas.

What is a Bereavement Doula?

A bereavement Doula is similar to a birth or postpartum doula, but they have special training in miscarriage, pregnancy loss in every trimester, and still birth. With specific training in interacting with families through their grief journey, bereavement doulas can offer a unique and educated support system for the families who may need them. Bereavement Doulas can offer support during an active miscarriage, in birthing spaces, as well as after a traumatic loss when debriefing may be necessary. They can guide you through the mourning and grieving processes, offering a grace filled and gentle perspective throughout your interactions with them.
Lending Library
Finding quality pregnancy loss, miscarriage and still birth literature can be a daunting task. We offer a full lending library of books with the ability to check them out. We hope to offer support by way of offering this service. Taking that burden of cost away and offering community members to ability to find literature that can support them mentally and emotionally through their journey.

Care Packages
These pregnancy loss care packages are a wonderful gift for someone who may have recently lost a child. You can purchase them through the link below. There is also an option to gift a box to someone who may not be able to afford one, please consider gifting someone a box. We fundraise in our community to be able to provide these boxes to our local Midwives and Birth Centers. This way they have them on hand for the families that they serve, who might unexpectedly experience a loss.

Pregnancy Loss Journal

Forever My Baby, Always Your Mother is a pregnancy & infant loss grief journal that women and families can utilize to help them along in their grief journey. The first 10 pages include resources and helpful information for those currently experiencing pregnancy loss. There are over 100 pages of journal prompts for grief and processing loss. This includes prompts for writing your baby a letter on their 1st through their 18th birthday, as well as 10 coloring pages for thoughtful, quiet self reflection. This journal would be an amazing and heartfelt gift for anyone who has undergone a pregnancy loss or the loss of a child.

This book was authored by Rebekah Saunders, who also serves as the founder and president of the board at The Birth Place. Her ministry is to continue to develop and provide more ways for people to receive resources and support in their childbearing journey. Bereavement resources are an integral piece in the support dynamic that we need as a community. Rebekah strives to bridge the gap in care that pregnancy loss families often encounter.
